Nokia Corp. says sales of smartphones dropped 39 percent to 10.2 million in the second quarter, but the decline is smaller � at 5 percent to 83.7 million � when counting basic cellphones. Nokia was the world�s leading mobile phone maker for more than a decade but was overtaken by Samsung in the first quarter, according to research firm Gartner.

Research in Motion Ltd. � 9.9 million units, 2.4 percent share (3.0 percent a year earlier)
Motorola Mobility (now part of Google) � 8.4 million units, 2.0 percent share (2.1 percent a year earlier)
Sony Corp. � 7.9 million units, 1.9 percent share (1.9 percent a year earlier)
HTC Corp. � 7.7 million units, 1.8 percent share (2.2 percent a year earlier)
Others � 139 million units, 33.3 percent share (35.9 percent a year earlier).
